Kittens and Rascals

Liz got in on Saturday around 4ish. We cleaned up and headed to Jones to share some food and cocktails. We got there super early (since she'd been on a plane all day and was STARVING) -- 6:45 p.m. -- and Jones wasn't open yet. We went across the street to Formosa and had a cocktail while we waited for it to open. At Jones, we shared the steak (yum) with Wasabi mashed and sauteed spinach. Jones knows how to grill a steak, that's for certain.

Then we drove back to LAX to pick up Dizzee's DJ and hype man, Scope and Frisky (aka Nazeer and Aaron). We parked and went into baggage claim and Liz scrawled "Scope/Frisky" on a piece of paper. We walked around saying "Scope, Frisky" really low and under our breath like we were selling drugs. The people from the flight were somewhat freaked out. I also thought it looked like maybe we were picking up our CATS from baggage (with names like "Scope" and "Frisky," right???!). Liz started calling them "The Kittens" as they were sweet young boys with cat names. We eventually found the boys who looked like they could not have been more tired. Since they had flown in from Rome with a 2-hour layover in Philadelphia, I could imagine.

We dropped them off at the hotel and went downstairs to the Standard Lounge for a cocktail. The clientele in the Standard Lounge was very "Asian Prom" and the ONLY cute guy worked there. We left and went to 3 of Clubs where my friend Chris was DJing. We basically spent all of our time picking out what records he should play. hee.

Then we left around 12:30 and hit Jayburger on the way home. This was apparently a huge error on my part. While liz also got a Jayburger, I awoke at 8 a.m. the next morning with the worst stomach cramps I think I've EVER experienced. I then spent the next few hours doubled over in pain and suffering from searing abdomenal pain and other stomach issues I shall note describe here. I literally was certain I was going to pass out and my skin tone was GREEN as kermit the frog. not cool. I spent the day on the couch recovering from my disgusting food poisoning (or whatever it was). I wanted to D-I-E it hurt so bad.

I slept for another 3 hours and felt slightly better upon waking up. Liz had made reservations at Ago for us, the boys, their publicist and Peaches' manager. I was able to eat some delicious Italian food (and not hurl!) and drank about 3 glasses of Ginger Ale. While we were eating, this tall blonde woman came out of the bathroom wearing the ugliest dress I've ever seen. It was a white babydoll dress and had a macrame top and this blousy crinkled tulle and was barely thigh-length. I actually thought she might be Trans, because she had very large hands a lot of makeup on. I saw her leave with her beau, Duff McKagan! Oops. Guess that was his wife. They both looked very scary in person.

Last nite, we went to the Short List awards and Dizzee was great but the folks who run that show are assholes. They treated everyone from Dizzee's label like second-class citizens and there were hardly any people there anyway. They obviously did not promote it properly or maybe they treated EVERYONE the way they treated us and they boycotted?

TV on the Radio won instead of Dizzee, which was actually my prediction because the press on them lately has been crazy.

I still feel a little bit gross today and am exhausted and skipped Entertainment Law tonite (again -- oy!). However, I did come home to a decision from my infamous Parking Citation hearing and I WON!!!!!!. They will be refunding my $65! YAY! Gee, that only took 4 months and a chunk of my life that I won't get back. But I feel pretty good that the stupid cow who ticketed me WRONGLY did not get away with it! That felt nice.

I'm off to put on my Juicy sweats and watch me some Gilmore Girls. Liz left this morning for Nashville and I miss her already. I so wish we didn't live 3000 miles away.
