Hate of the Union

So the OutLaw Hate Crimes Panel is finally upon us. Tomorrow at noon in the Loyola student lounge, we will be putting on a panel re: Hate Crimes and laws. I was able to get an LA County Deputy Attorney, Nohelia from my summer job at Anti-Violence Project, a woman from the Muslim Public Affairs Council and a guy from the Asian Pacific Legal Center. I hope it will be a good turnout.

Unfortunately, there are also appellate arguments going on tomorrow on campus. Professor Laurie Levenson convinced some judges to come hear oral arguments at Loyola so that students have a chance to see what really happens in them. Pretty cool. I am grateful that they are taking a lunch break when we are having our panel!

I made 200 copies on lavender paper of our flyer and am going to get to school early tomorrow to leave them on desks, chairs, bulletin boards, etc.
It's so hard to wrangle 4 different speakers. I just hope it all works out. This is OutLaw's first big student program!

Wish me luck.

In other news, things with Ian are going swimmingly. We've been together 2 months now and I'm actually using the term "boyfriend" somewhat freely. I have begun to feel better about the age difference after learning that Susan Sarandon is 10 years older than Tim Robbins. And that she is almost 60. She's still freakin hot!

I can't wait for Spring Break and my trip to VEGA$!!!! I'm going with a friend from law school and some of her friends. Unfortunately, we planned the trip way back in January and it falls over Ian's 25th birthday. In order to make it up to him, I have an elaborate gift/evening planned involving massage lotion, lingerie and new 600 TC sheets. I might even bake him a pie.
